A traditional village hall serving the parishes of Glooston, Cranoe and Stonton Wyville.

Social Events

With the church of St John the Baptist being right next to the village hall it is very convenient to arrange an event, such as a wedding or a christening, at the church and use the village hall for the reception. As the Old Barn Inn is next door providing drinks, meals and accommodation, this can also be included in any events that are planned using the hall. Please note it is currently closed.

Cycling and Walking

Glooston has many footpaths around the village and is a key connection for The Leicestershire Round, a 100 mile circular walk around the county connecting many places of historical and geographical interest. As road traffic is very light in the surrounding countryside, the village hall has often been used as the venue for walks, cycle rides and running races.

Horse Riding

The area in and around Glooston is a mecca for horse riders with a UK Chasers course from the nearby Grange Farm offering 5 miles of unimpeded riding across some of Leicestershire most magnificent countryside.

Archaeology

The Roman Gartree Road crosses the village east to west and the area has hosted a number of archaeological digs, based at the village hall, including the nearby site of a Roman villa.
